COLLEGE PARK, MD–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Immuta today announced the appointment of three key members to its leadership team to help the company scale to meet growing demand for its advanced data management platform for data science. Andrew Burt joins the company as Chief Privacy Officer and Legal Engineer; Andrew Gilman as Chief Customer Officer; and Rich Kucharski as Vice President of Global Solutions Architecture.

Andrew is the leading authority on the intersection between machine learning, regulation and law. Prior to joining Immuta, Andrew served as Special Advisor for Policy to the head of the FBI Cyber Division, where he served as lead author on the FBI’s after-action report for the 2014 attack on Sony. He is also a visiting fellow at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project, most recently participating in an expert discussion on how to structure a basic framework for governing machine learning and AI.

An author and former reporter, Andrew has been published in the Financial Times, The Los Angeles Times, SlateThe Yale Journal of International Affairs, and most recently, The New York Times for an article titled, “The End of Privacy.” His book, American Hysteria: The Untold Story of Mass Political Extremism in the United States (Lyons Press, 2015), was called “a must read book dealing with a topic few want to tackle” by Nobel laureate Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu. Andrew earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, and B.A. from McGill University. He is a term-member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the Washington, D.C. and Virginia State Bars, and a Global Information Assurance Certified (GIAC) cyber incident response handler.

Andrew Gilman, Chief Customer Officer

Andrew is responsible for driving the company’s sales and marketing globally. He brings more than a decade of experience leading successful go-to-market strategies and operations for venture-backed and publicly traded companies. Gilman recently served as General Manager at Actifio, where he was the founding member of the marketing team, and helped grow the company from pre-revenue to a valuation of well over $1 billion in 2014, while scaling to over 1,000 customers across 30 countries. He has previously held positions at EqualLogic (later acquired by Dell) and Dell EMC. Gilman earned his Bachelor of Science from the Boston University School of Management.

Rich Kucharski, Vice President of Solutions ArchitectureRich brings more than 20 years of technology experience to Immuta, including 11 in the storage and data management space. Rich previously served as Vice President of Solutions Architecture at SimpliVity Corporation, where helped grow the team from 10 pre-sales technical resources to more than 120 in four years and achieve well over $200 million in annual sales. His past experience includes serving as Executive Director at JP Morgan Chase’s infrastructure and services division; Managing Director of IBM XIV Storage System; and Dell EMC, where he delivered solutions to customers, such as Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank, Morgan Stanley, and J.P. Morgan. Rich earned his Bachelor of Science from William Paterson University.
