Recently on the blog, we wrote about how the deep business partnership between Immuta and Databricks helps data teams automate security and governance for BI and data science on sensitive data. Next week, we’re going to show the world how we’re doing that.
Immuta is a Diamond sponsor at Databricks’ Spark + AI Summit 2020, taking place virtually June 22-26. The show will be a truly global event, open to anyone free of charge – making it perhaps the world’s biggest gathering of data professionals. With the world watching, we’ve got quite a bit planned. If you’re participating in the event, there are a number of ways to interact with Immuta, detailed below.
Learn From Your Peers
The best way to learn about the impact of Immuta and Databricks is to hear it straight from the teams using the solution. That’s why we’re so excited that the Spark + AI Summit will feature presentations by two customers using Immuta and Databricks to leverage their data effectively while preserving privacy and ensuring compliance.
On Wednesday, June 24 at 11:30 a.m. PDT, Immuta CTO Steve Touw will join Greg Galloway of Artis Consulting for a session about the automation strategies Artis and Immuta leveraged to protect sensitive data for Fortune 500 company undergoing a complex, on-premises migration to Databricks Delta Lake while complying with internal rules and privacy laws.
Next up, Slava Frid, Platform Architect and CTO at Worldquant Predictive, will discuss his experience scaling sensitive data analytics with Immuta and Databricks and how they have eliminated the costly bottlenecks of safely and confidentially managing data for quantitative research. at scale in a discussion taking place Slava’s session goes live on Thursday, June 25 at 11:30 a.m. PDT.
Connect with Immuta
The Spark+ AI Summit will be a virtual event this year, but that won’t stop our team from connecting with you. We’ve got a number of unique events and activities throughout the week to help attendees learn more, interact with their peers, and relax and take a mental break from the conference.
Amid the 40+ hours of content and 200+ sessions happening at Spark + AI Summit, we are keenly aware that we all need to find time to rest and recharge. On the morning of Tuesday, June 23, we’re inviting attendees to take a break and join us for a complimentary, all-levels Zoom yoga session (don’t worry, you can turn off your video). So grab your mat, some water, and join us with an open mind.
Before the conference kicks off for the day on Thursday, June 25, Andrew Burt, Managing Partner of bnh.ai – the world’s first law firm focused on AI and analytics – and Immuta Chief Legal Officer will deliver a virtual talk, “Nobody Cares About Your Data (Not Even You),” examining the precipitous decline in cybersecurity, how AI and big data are making the problem worse, and what we can do to truly protect our data.
In addition to these activities, you can find us in the Dev Hub & Expo Wednesday through Friday next week. This is the place to learn about Immuta and Databricks’ partnership – you’ll see the native integration in action during our live demos, interact with our team, access useful tutorials and guides exclusive to the conference, and grab some sweet swag. Bonus… all attendees who visit the booth will be automatically entered to win a Propella e-Bicycle.
As you can see, it’s going to be an eventful week with plenty of opportunities to connect with us – and we’re excited to show you how organizations innovating and competing with sensitive and personal data trust Immuta and Databricks to enable the safe analysis of sensitive data at scale.
Stay tuned! We’ll be back later this week with more thoughts on the conference, including a look at some of the sessions we’re really looking forward to. If you haven’t signed up for Spark + AI Summit 2020 yet, we hope you’ll do so – and we hope we’ll see you there!
