Today, Immuta was named to Fast Company’s annual list of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies for 2020. Immuta was ranked the 30th most innovative company in the world, and 2nd in the security category. Read about Immuta’s inclusion on the list here.
Many of the world’s largest and most successful companies have made Fast Company’s prestigious list over the years. Immuta’s selection is a tremendous honor and testament to the tireless work the entire Immuta team has dedicated to our mission: to enable the legal and ethical use of data. The award represents the collective, collaborative effort between executive leadership, our team of legal engineers and product engineering, and the customers and partners with whom we work.
What makes this recognition so impactful is the criteria by which nominees were evaluated. Fast Company’s editors sought out the most groundbreaking businesses on the planet and across myriad industries. The program honors the businesses making the most profound impact on both industry and culture, and we are doing just that at Immuta.
Data is driving the global business landscape like never before. Over the last 20 years, the ability for businesses to collect data has fueled innovation: from personalization to machine learning and beyond. Yet, the collection and use of data – especially personal information – brings great organizational risk: data leakage, misappropriation and loss of trust.
With the rapid expansion of global data privacy regulations – both in number and scope – organizations are now mandated to fundamentally augment the way they use and govern data. Fast Company’s recognition of Immuta as an innovator validates the fact that data governance and privacy control is not simply a technical business responsibility; it now holds larger societal and legal ramifications.
Our innovation lies in enabling organizations to provide self-service data access while automating data governance, privacy and security. Our solutions help organizations accelerate business intelligence, analytics and data science initiatives, while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with global data privacy regulations. Together with our customers, we are operationalizing data privacy regulations with automated policies that can be authored by anyone, ensuring only compliant data is used by analysts and data scientists.
Before Immuta, compliance efforts simply could not scale. Organizations were forced to choose between adopting new technologies that don’t follow laws and regulations, or abandoning those new technologies altogether. This is not a choice organizations should have to make, especially with the positive, societal impact data-driven technologies unlock. From leveraging data science for more effective clinical trials and drug discovery to breaking down socioeconomic barriers in lending decisions, data as a tool for good is undeniable.
The past calendar year was a record one for Immuta. The company grew revenue and customers 2.5X. Immuta added new platform capabilities to enable compliant data science in the cloud, the automated detection of sensitive information across organizations, native integration with the most modern, cloud-based analytics platforms, and much more. We established partnerships with fellow world-leading technology companies such as Databricks, and enhanced existing relationships with companies like AWS. Most importantly, we enabled customers across healthcare, finance, government, insurance and other industries to securely leverage sensitive information for business intelligence, analytics and data science initiatives that positively impact both business and society.
I could not be more proud of the Immuta team for this recognition. This is only the beginning and we will continue our mission to enable the legal and ethical use of data for the greater good of business and society.
