Better Together: Immuta and Databricks at the 2022 Data+AI Summit

“Databricks is what I think has thrust this community into a whole new stage of cloud compute.”
– Matt Carroll, CEO, Immuta

At June 2022’s Databricks Data+AI Summit in San Francisco, Immuta had the chance to meet with a range of customers, partners, and other attendees to talk about the next generation of data security and the modern data stack.

Speaking about the attendees of this event, Carroll noted “Everyone from data scientists, to engineers, to executives from financial services, insurance, healthcare, life sciences, public sector. It’s just quite humbling to be part of this ecosystem and just be a great partner to Databricks and all their customers.”

Of the range of customers in attendance, Pumpjack Dataworks’ Head of Engineering Corey Zwart shared that “[W]hat actually set [Immuta] apart from the rest was the attribute-based access control, which is the game changer for us. Made everything so simple.” How impactful are these attribute-based access controls for Pumpjack? “Anyone that’s not using it, you’re missing out” Zwart emphasized.

Together with Databricks, Immuta helps data teams automate data access control and governance over sensitive data for BI and data science across Lakehouse architectures. In regard to customers with data in lakehouse architectures, Databricks’ Raja Perumal noted that “Immuta ensures that that data is accessed securely and in a way that’s easily accessible by end users.”
